 American aor mainstays 8084 are back with their fourth effort, entitled THE LAST GREAT TRAIN. This foursome continues the ride started in the 1980s and this stop is chock full on rock anthems as 8084 fans have come to expect. From the opening notes of Breathe, 8084’s distinct sound is evident. Although maturing as musicians and people, the group continues the tradition it set forth at the onset. “We love melodies and that’s what we concentrate on,” notes vocalist Randy Smith. “It all starts with the song and once that is where it needs to be we focus on our performances.”
Over the last several releases the group has worked with renown producers Hirsh Gardner and Aldo Nova, the group decided to produce this one themselves. Guitarist Andre Maquera adds, “We worked with some great producers in the past and now we were more than ready to bring our production skills into the mix. We’re pretty proud of it.”
The Last Great Train also marks the recording debut of bassist Roy Brown, who along with Smith, Maquera and drummer Gary Spaulding comprise the current 8084 line-up.
Look for the band to tour in support of the new CD throughout 2006.
